The Farmer’s Year

Life on a farm moves to the rhythm of the seasons.

At Alpegger, daily life is shaped not by the calendar, but by nature itself. Every season carries its own tasks, its own mood, its own fragrance.

 Springtime

The first blooms make their way through the soil

New life fills the barn — curious eyes, wobbly legs, gentle bleating. Outside, the season’s first tasks begin: fences are checked, fields prepared, order restored after the long winter months.

The air is clear, the sun already warm, and everything carries the quiet promise of a new beginning.

The meadows grow green once more.

☀️ Summer

The Time of Long Days

The meadows are cut, the hay turned, gathered, and stored. The fragrance of freshly cut grass fills the air. Children race barefoot through the fields, lend a hand with the hay, or watch how work unfolds in quiet cooperation. Evenings linger in soft light. We sit outdoors, the sound of crickets in the background, and sense it deeply: the day has been full — yet deeply satisfying.

And those who wish can set off directly from the farm on hikes through sunny Terenten.

🍂 Autumn

Harvest and Golden Light

This is the time to harvest what the year has nurtured. Potatoes are drawn from the earth. Chestnuts roast over an open fire. The woods glow in deep gold and red. Autumn carries a quiet stillness — yet it is rich and generous. The days are clear, the horizons wide, the air refreshingly cool.

It is the season for lingering outdoors — and for rediscovering the warmth and comfort of being inside.

❄️ Winter
